DOUGLAS, W.Va. - Alma Catherine Lambruno, 86, of Douglas, passed away Feb. 14, 2007, at her home.

She was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Beryl, a daughter of the late Samuel Russ and Rosie Catherine Lipscomb Davis.

She was married first to Arlie Davis Sr., whom she married on Sept. 4, 1937, and second to Anthony D. Lambruno on Oct. 3, 1959, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Arlie C. and wife Kathryn Davis, Blackman Flats; one daughter, Karen and husband Gene Bishop, Marion, Ohio; one sister, Sarah Shillingburg, California; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers; two sisters; and one great-granddaughter.

Alma retired in 1980 after 25 years working as postmaster of the Thomas, WV Post Office. She was a member of the National Association of Postmasters, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Thomas.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, at Hinkle Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Morrison officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Hospice, 1600 Crum Ave., Belington, WV 26250.
