CUMBERLAND - Amy Lynn Helmstetter, 31, of Cumberland, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at her home after six years of suffering with Lou Gehrig's disease.

Born March 24, 1975, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Patrick Charles Helmstetter and Robin Lynn (Hardman) Helmstetter. Ms. Helmstetter was also preceded in death by a nephew, Harrison Squires.

A graduate of Fort Hill High School, Class of 1993, Amy was a member of the Cumberland Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 245 Ladies Auxiliary.

Besides her parents, she is survived by her son, Ryley Patrick Helmstetter, the love of her life; her paternal grandmother, Dewan Fox; her mat-ernal grandmother, Dolores Hardman; her sisters, Stacy N. Helmstetter and her daughter Leaha Helmstetter, all of Cumberland, and Heath-er S. Harman and her husband John Roger, Fort Riley, Kan.; her lifelong friend, Lori Ryan of Ohio; and a special friend and caregiver, Steve Barger, Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Thursday, June 15, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, June 16, 2006, at 10 a.m.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
