FROSTBURG — Anna E. Scott, 95, of Frostburg died on Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center.

Born Nov. 29, 1911, in Eckhart she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Groeter) Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph F.Scott, who died Oct. 31,1972; also four sisters; Stella Crowe, Alice Lancaster, Catherine Rase, and Ellen Seifarth, and three brothers; Leo, Tom and Bernard Carter.

Mrs. Scott was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Sodality. She was also a member of the Frostburg American Legion 24 Auxiliary, and the County and Frostburg Women’s Shuffleboard Leagues.

Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Gilligan and husband Robert, Brigantine, N.J, and Joan Harden and husband Leo, Morantown; one son, Joe Scott, Frederick; granddaughter Beth Schreiber and husband Craig; great- grandson Clayton Schreiber, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main Street,Frostburg on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Frostburg at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Patrick Besel officiating.

The Frostburg American Legion Auxiliary 24 will conduct a service on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Interment will be in Vale Summit Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Smith, Robert Flanigan, Gary Warn, Robert Rase, Richard Kerns, Michael Troutman, and Robert Hess.

The family of Mrs. Scott would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center for the kind and excellent care that was given to their mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Michael Catholic Church, 44 East Main Street, Frostburg, MD 21532.
