Diggs celebrate anniversary

CUMBERLAND — Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Diggs celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on Dec. 15, 2007, at Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort.
Maurice and Evelyn were joined in wedlock on Dec. 15, 1939, in Cumberland. With the exception of 17 months, when Maurice served in the Armed Forces during and after World War II, they have been together and happily married.
Maurice retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass in 1981 and Evelyn retired from J.S. Raub Shoe Store, White Oaks.
Four generations were present: Their sons, James Diggs and wife, Nancy Fitzwater Diggs, of Glen Dale, and Ronald Diggs of Cumberland; their grandsons and families, James Diggs Jr. and wife, Carrie, of Millersville and their children, Jakob, Jessica and Joseph; Jason Diggs and wife, Kara, of Millersville and their daughter, Kelsey; and granddaughter, Nora Diggs of Glen Dale.
Also attending was Nadine Fitzwater, mother-in-law of James and mother of Nancy, of Bowling Green.
