Himmlers celebrate anniversary

CUMBERLAND — Patrick and Frances Himmler of Shriver Avenue, Cumberland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise dinner held in their honor Aug. 16, 2008, at Rocky Gap Lodge & Golf Resort.
Pat and Fran were married at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cumberland, by Father John Lipinski, OFM Cap., on Aug. 16, 1958. William E. Kegg was best man and Anna (Dressman) Michaels was maid of honor.
Pat and Fran are the proud parents of three children, Michael and fiancee Karin Bramande of Cumberland; Linda Bayline and husband “Tink” of Salisbury; and Christopher and wife Pam of Winchester, Va. They also have four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
The children chose pictures of the family over the past 50 years and had them enlarged and displayed on large cards all around the room. A life-size picture of the bride and groom was placed behind the anniversary cake. Fifty gold balloons were displayed throughout the room. After cutting the cake, the couple danced to their song, “Unchained Melody.” Musical memories were provided by Steve and Michele Randall. with Buddy Mullan as disc jockey.
Pat served four years in the United States Air Force prior to his marriage to Fran. He retired from the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company Distribution Center. Frances is a registered nurse and worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in the operating room, She retired from working for Dr. Andrew Stasko after 25 years.
A cruise to San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Grand Turks and Caicos is planned in September to finish up the 50th anniversary celebration.
