Clark-Ujcic marriage vows exchanged one year ago

FROSTBURG — On Oct. 13, 2007, Christina Marie Clark and David Brian Ujcic were married. The double ring ceremony was held at 2 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Frostburg, with Monsignor Paul Byrnes, great uncle of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Maria Lewis of Lonaconing and Victor Clark Jr. of Barton. She is the granddaughter of Dale and Eileen Lewis of Lonaconing and Victor Sr. and Donna Clark of Barton.

The groom is the son of Jim and Susie Ujcic of Short Gap, W.Va. He is the grandson of Freda Ujcic, Fort Ashby, W.Va.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her mother and father. The bride wore a strapless ivory satin gown designed by Alfred Angelo. The dress was accented with lavender trim, a lavender color panel on the front and a lavender chapel length train. The veil was ivory with lavender trim. The tiara consisted of diamond and amethyst stones. The bridal party jewelry was designed by Michelle Lewis, aunt of the bride. The groom’s tuxedo was designed by Ralph Lauren. The theme of the wedding was “Grow Old With Me, The Best Is Yet To Be.” The colors for the wedding were lavender and silver.

Serving as maids of honor were Shawn Golden-Llewellyn and Rachel Duncan, friends of the bride. Bridesmaids were Michele Leatherman, aunt of the bride; Tressa Lewis-Clark, cousin of the bride; Jennifer Hardman, friend of the bride; and Kristie Wilhelm, friend of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Charity Noel Clark, sister of the bride and Katelyn Elizabeth Barnes, niece of the groom. Flower girls were Cambrya Madelyn Clark, niece of the bride; Jamie Leigh Ujcic, niece of the groom; and Jenna Lynn Ujcic, niece of the groom. Mandy Buckholtz, cousin of the bride, served as the wedding assistant.

Serving as the best men were Scott Nichols and Chad Nichols, friends of the groom. Groomsmen were Travis Jeffries, friend of the groom; Andy Parsons, friend of the groom, Brian Clark, brother of the bride, and Dave Dodrill, friend of the groom. Junior groomsmen were Kirby Charles Butler, cousin of the bride, and Preston Thomas Leatherman, cousin of the bride. The ring bearer was Tyler Morgan, son of Amber Morgan, friend of the bride.

Shannon Watkins, friend of the bride, was the soloist for the ceremony and performed “The One He Kept for Me,” “I Believe in You and Me” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Lauren Bennett, friend of the bride, performed “I Will Be Here.”

Samantha Jones, great aunt of the bride, designed the guest book. The attendants were Jodie Lewis and Jasmine Lewis. Program attendants were Maggie Lewis and Erin Lewis. The bubble attendant was Carlie Lewis. All are cousins of the bride.

Formal photography was done by Donna Piercy, friend of the bride. Photojournalistic photography was done by Amanda Carey, friend of the bride.

The wedding party was transported from the church to the reception site by Executive Limousine. This was a gift from the bride’s grandparents, Dale and Eileen Lewis. The reception was held at the Maplehurst Country Club in Frostburg. The dinner was prepared by Mr. Pat Ingram of OrchidOwls Catering, Inc. The wedding cake was designed and baked by Gail DeVault, great aunt of the bride. The wedding cake attendants were Gail DeVault; Carla Hertzog, aunt of the groom; Kathy Neubauer, friend of the bride; and Jennifer Ritchie, friend of the bride. Special toasts were given by the best men, Scott Nichols and Chad Nichols, and maid of honor, Rachel Duncan. The disc jockey service was provided by Jim and Patricia Folk. The wedding favors were caramel apples decorated with lavender tissue paper. The bride’s and groom’s first dance was to “You Are” by Jimmy Wayne. The bride and groom held a dance with their parents to “Bring It On Home” by Little Big Town.

The bride was honored to have her great-grandmothers, Mrs. Isabel Jones of Lonaconing, and Mrs. Eva Lewis of Frostburg, attend the wedding day celebration.

The bride and groom would like to thank the following businesses for the wonderful services received for their wedding day. Stefania Colucciello of Wed Ideas designed the bridal party bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. Georges Creek Florist provided flowers for the church and reception. Crafts & Things designed the pew bows. JR’s Custom Screen Printing and Embroidery accented the bridal gown with a special message for the groom. Patti Kenney of Printers, Inc., custom designed the wedding invitations and programs with the theme for the bride and groom. The bride would also like to thank Brandi Cross and the staff of Holiday Hair.

The West Virginia University-themed rehearsal dinner was held at the Maplehurst and hosted by the groom’s parents. OrchidOwls Catering, Inc. prepared the dinner. The dessert buffet was created by Donna Clark, grandmother of the bride.

The bride was honored with a fantastic bridal shower hosted by the bridal party and family. The cake was magical and the guests presented the bride with a scrapbook that will be forever treasured.

Chrissy is a graduate of Westmar High School and Frostburg State University. She is employed with HRDC Head Start of Allegany County as a family services specialist.

Dave is a graduate of Frankfort High School and West Virginia University. He is employed with Hohing and Lewis, LLC, as a staff accountant.

Chrissy and Dave would like to thank everyone who helped make their wedding day so special. It has been a very interesting first year of marriage and we want to thank our friends and family for their love and support.

Chrissy and Dave currently reside in Carpendale, W.Va.
