Booths celebrate anniversary

07/17/11 — BARTON — Mr. and Mrs. Bernard C. Booth Sr. of Barton were secretly united in marriage on June 23, 1961, and renewed their vows in front of family on July 27, 1961, at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Westernport.

The couple recently celebrated their 50 years of marriage with their family. A surprise dinner party was given by their great-grandson, Noah Cole, at the Ponderosa Restaurant in LaVale on Saturday, June 25, 2011.

Mr. and Mrs. Booth have one daughter and two sons. Kathryn Miltenberger and husband, Richard, of Rawlings; Scott Booth and wife, Jaci, of Bowling Green; and Bernard Booth Jr. and wife, Candace, of Barton.

They have five grandchildren, Shanna Cole and husband, Clinton, of Barton; Jason Marchinke and wife, Misty, of Carpendale, W.Va.; Krystal and Patrick Booth of Barton; and baby Avery Booth, 9 months old, of Bowling Green.

God has blessed them with two beautiful great- grandchildren. Noah Cole, age 3, of Barton and Isabella Halbritter, 7 months old, of Barton.

Mr. Booth spent 1958 through 1963 in the Navy Reserves and 1974 through 1977 in the Army National Guard. He worked briefly at TriState Roofing and at Lovers Leap Service Station before starting his career with Mead Westvaco. He worked there for 40 years in the paint shop. He retired in 2003.

Mrs. Booth has been a life-long housewife and has spent the last 50 years keeping her husband on his toes.

The couple reside in their home of 30 years in Barton. This compassionate couple have spent their lives instilling family values into others, and leaving a door open into their life, their home and their hearts.

Congratulations to Bernard and Elizabeth Booth on their rare achievement and may the rest of your marriage be as golden as this anniversary.
