Felten-Hilditch wedding vows said one year ago

Mount Savage — One year ago today, on June 5, 2010, Kelly Kristin Hilditch and Jeremy Christopher Felten were united in marriage. The double ring ceremony took place at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Mount Savage, with the Rev. Harold E. Bishop Jr. officiating.

Kelly is the daughter of Michael and Marian Hilditch of Cumberland. She is the granddaughter of Ida and William Smouse of Carpendale, W.Va., and the late William Hilditch and Violet Lorraine Ruhe of Baltimore.

Jeremy is the son of Terry Felten and Carolyn and Roger Helmstetter of Cumberland. He is the grandson of Geraldine Arnold and the late Daniel Arnold and Ruth Felten of Fayetteville, N.C., and the late Marcellus Felten.

The bride was given away in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father.

The bride wore an ivory strapless trumpet-style Melissa Sweet bridal gown made of swiss dot organza. In lieu of a veil, the bride opted to wear a feathered hair flower made from ivory ostrich feathers and accented with vintage ivory velvet leaves and freshwater pearls. The bride wore a custom made pearl choker and stud earrings, as well as an heirloom gold bangle bracelet lent to the bride by the groom’s grandmother, Geraldine Arnold. The bouquet carried by the bride was made up of pale pink peonies and roses and designed by Flowerland of Cumberland.

The groom wore a black tuxedo, ivory shirt, vest and matching tie. The groom wore an ivory rose boutonniere and a pair of cufflinks gifted to the groom by the bride with the emblem of the groom’s favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers.

Serving as maid of honor was Breann Ritchey, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were April Steckman, friend of the bride; and Lisa Mallery, Heather Painter, and Stephanie Turano, all cousins of the groom. The bridesmaids wore pewter strapless floor length gowns made of chiffon and accented with a pale pink sash from Alfred Angelo’s of LaVale. The bridal party all carried bouquets of ivory peonies and pale pink roses designed by Flowerland.

Serving as best man was Tim Emmart, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Joshua Felten, brother of the groom; Vivek Purohit and Ricardo Bradford, friends of the groom; and Michael Hilditch, brother of the bride. Groomsmen wore black tuxedos, ivory shirts, and pewter vests and matching ties and ivory rose boutonnieres designed by Flowerland.

Delaney Swaim, cousin of the groom, served as the flower girl. Delaney wore a white, tea-length dress made of satin and netting accented with a pale pink sash. She carried a white satin basket filled with pale pink satin petals and wore a crown of white baby carnations around her head. Christian Turano, cousin of the groom, wore a black tuxedo, ivory shirt, vest, and matching tie and carried an ivory pillow.

Acacia Squires distributed the wedding programs. The organist for the ceremony was Carol Barry. Brittany Helmstetter assisted in playing the processional wedding music. Special readings were given by David Arnold, uncle of the groom, and Michael Hilditch, brother of the bride.

A reception immediately followed the ceremony at the Cumberland Outdoor Club. The buffet of an array of appetizers was provided by the Oxford House. Reba Kriglein of Victorian Creations of Cumberland decorated the columns and wedding arches with pale pink carnations. The head table centerpiece was made of ivory peonies, pink roses and carnations and was designed by Flowerland.

The three-tier round wedding cake was vanilla, accented with butter cream frosting, and covered in miniature edible pale pink daisies. The cake was prepared by Roberts Confections of Cumberland.

Photography of the wedding ceremony and reception was provided by George Knotts of G&G Studio of Cumberland. Reception music was provided by Tina Hankinson.

Jeremy and Kelly danced their first dance as husband and wife to “Be Mine” by David Gray. Kelly and her father danced to “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” by Darius Rucker. Jeremy and his mother danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents and was held at Geatz’s restaurant for the bridal party, family and guests. A bridal shower was given by Carolyn Helmstetter, mother of the groom, and Stephanie Turano, cousin of the groom. The bridal shower took place at the Hen House restaurant.

Jeremy and Kelly honeymooned at the Turtle Bay Resort in Oahu, Hawaii.

The couple currently reside in McAllen, Texas, where they work as traveling physical therapist assistants.

Jeremy and Kelly would like to thank their parents, family, and friends for helping make their wedding day so remarkable.
