Several receiveTrident awards

For the Cumberland Times-News

CUMBERLAND — The Frostburg State University College of Business’ Trident Initiative recently presented its first Model Entrepreneur of the Year Awards to Sam Griffith of the National Jet Co. in LaVale and Gary and Bill Warn of the Hen House Restaurant in Finzel.

The 2006 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award went to Sarah and Bill Teter of Die Monster Games, LaVale.

The awards were part of Trident’s Tale of Two Cities Conference held at the Holiday Inn in Cumberland and FSU’s Compton Science Center. The event culminated the first year of a three-year entrepreneurial education program funded through one of only 12 Coleman Foundation grants.

The program is intended to promote and inspire entrepreneurship and cooperation among the arts, education and business community.

Sudhir Singh and Keramat Poorsoltan of the FSU faculty and Pam Rose, manager of the city of Cumberland’s Business Resource Center, said the program has been a significant success and the conference has been a catalyst for the development of expanded entrepreneurial and educational development.

Trident Faculty Research on Entrepreneurship Wards went to Daniel Singer and Laleh Malek of Towson University and Robert Bonometti of Shenandoah University, who made presentations during the conference.
