Look Mom, no hands

Out of 2,955 schools that participated, Parkside Elementary School was one of five winners in the Martin’s A+ School Rewards Principal vs. Martin’s Manager Challenge. Principal Patti Stevenson and six students challenged Bill McElvie, Martin’s manager, to a pie-eating contest. One student from each classroom was chosen to participate in the challenge. Each team had 15 minutes to see how many pies they could eat — without using their hands. Parkside won $1,000 for being a manager’s challenge winner. Pictured, first-grader Jason Loveria
