Bus accident injures 3 students

Fire and rescue personnel pour absorbant on state Route 35 after Allegany County Public Schools bus No. 72, en route from Mount Savage School, was rear-ended Friday around 2:30 p.m. Three students aboard the bus were taken to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries as a precaution, according to the Allegany County Board of Education. Plans were made to transport the remaining student passengers to their drop-off points. Volunteers from Ellerslie, LaVale, Corriganville and Mount Savage fire departments and LaVale Rescue Squad responded, according to the Allegany County 911 Center. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office investigated. No further information was available.
