Team does well

The Cumberland Outdoor Club’s Youth Hunter Education Team finished second in statewide competition recently at Williamsport. The Mayberry team from Carroll County won the event. Levi Hartsock, kneeling, was the individual champion, finishing first in muzzleloader, orienteering, wildlife identification and hunter responsibility. He was second in shotgun and third in rifle and archery. Hartsock, who won a muzzleloader for his first-place finish, will enter national competition this month at NRA Whittington Center in Raton, N.M. In the first row are Parker Preaskorn, Trevor Rice, Hunter Preaskorn, Luke Vinci, Austen Crowe and Jesse Harmon. In the rear are Coach Rege Appel, Colten Mowry, Logan Twigg, Grant Wolfe, Jared McKenzie, Dalton Funk, Coach Jim Snyder, Kara Kyle and Coach Jeff Barber. The junior and senior teams each finished second. Crowe was the fourth best overall junior competitor.
