Marvin F. “Marv” Beachy [Frederick]

FREDERICK — Marvin Fay “Marv” Beachy, 67, of Frederick, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 in his home.

Born March 24, 1941 in Grantsville, he was the son of the late Vernon Clay and Bessie Gertrude (Wilburn) Beachy. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Carl R. Beachy, Eugene D. Beachy, Ronald L. Beachy; and a sister, Janet (Beachy) Carroll.

Mr. Beachy was a retired plumber for the Local Union Number 5, Washington, D.C. He graduated in 1959 from Northern Garrett County and he was in the Army from 1959-1962. He was a member of the American Legion Post Number 11 and the PTSA at Thomas Johnson High School.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Rae (Hersh) Beachy; a son, Jeremy Lee Hersh; three daughters, Jamie Lea Hersh, Lacy Faye Beachy and Holly Noelle Beachy; his dog, Poohbear Beachy; three brothers, William Beachy, Baltimore and Harold and Richard Beachy, both of Grantsville; two sisters, Mary Geouge, Frederick and Kathy McGregor, Glen Burnie; and step-mother, Alverda (Beitzel) Beachy, Accident.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.

Services will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Randolf Richardson officiating. Military graveside rites will be accorded by Grantsville Post 214, American Legion.

Interment will be in Grantsville Cemetery.
