Richard Clark “Dick” Gillett [New Creek]

NEW CREEK, W.Va. — Richard Clark “Dick” Gillett, 83, of New Creek, died Friday, May 15, 2009 in Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Mr. Gillett was born in 1925, in Englewood, N.J., the son of the late Glenn D. and Dorothy S. Gillett.

He was a retired program analyst with the Department of the Navy. Mr. Gillett was a graduate of Amherst College and attended the University of Virginia. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy, in the Pacific Theatre, during World War II.

He married Mary Caperton Renshaw.

Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Mary Caperton “Polly” Means of Herndon, Va., Priscilla Elizabeth Parr of Seattle, Wash. and Blakeney Diana Gillett of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; two sons, Dr. R. Clark Gillett Jr. of Columbus, Ga. and Glenn Douglas Gillett of Alexandria, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

All services will be private.

Local arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester.
