Allegany County buck kill down 60 percent since 2001

Deer hunting was a real drag for the Jason Holler family of Rawlings on the opening weekend of late muzzleloader season. Just before dark on Saturday, Holler, right, hunting with his son, Cole, middle, shot at and hit a nice buck on the Dan’s Mountain Wildlife Management Area. Unable to find a good blood trail, the hunters went home for the night, returning the next day with Holler’s wife, Cheryl, left. The impressive 8-point was found and the whole family helped with the dragging chores.
