Michele Glotfelty Eggleston [McHenry]

MCHENRY — After an unbelievable battle, Michele Glotfelty Eggleston, 41, of McHenry, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at her home.

Born April 4, 1968, in Oakland, she was the daughter of Lucille (Savage) Glotfelty, McHenry and the late Roy R. Glotfelty. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Margaret Savage.

She was a devoted wife and mother who would have done anything for her children.

She is survived by her loving husband, Matthew Eggleston; and her two sons and the lights of her life, Eli Matthew and Ian Christopher. Also surviving are her mother; siblings, Linda Wengerd and husband Craig, of Norristown, Pa., Allen Glotfelty and wife Cheryl, of Palmyra, Pa., and Randy Glotfelty and wife Renatta, of Grantsville. Additional family members include nieces and nephews, Kane and Kara Wengerd, Brock, Whitney and Alyssa Glotfelty.

She graduated from Northern High School in 1986 and from Frostburg State University in 1990 with a degree in Secondary Education with a specialization in Math. In 1997, Michele graduated from the University of Maryland with a graduate degree. In 1999, she received a graduate degree of Curriculum and Instruction from McDaniel College, formerly Western Maryland College.

Michele was a member of the McHenry United Meth-odist Church and served as Chairman of the Administrative Board. She also had the honor of being selected Autumn Glory Queen in 1985.

She shared her love for Math with her students, teaching grades 7-12 in Baltimore County, Harford County and Cecil County and was an Administrator for Garrett County Public Schools.

Family and friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted in the McHenry United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Gooding officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
