Carol L. Spriggs [Cumberland]

CUMBERLAND - Carol Lee Spriggs, 63, of Cumberland, died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at the WMHS-Memorial Campus.

Born Nov. 22, 1944, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Pope and Gretchen (Gordon) Pope. Mrs. Spriggs was also preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Keyes; and a brother, James Pope.

Carol was a former employee of the former Shehee Restaurant; Gee Bee's De-partment Store; and retired from the Motor Vehicle Administration. She was a very active member of the McKendree United Meth-odist Church.

Carol, a faithful, devoted woman of God, and a loving wife, mother and friend, is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ralph U. Spriggs Jr.; her sons, David C. Spriggs and Roman G. Spriggs; her daughters, Julie A. Spriggs and Cara N. Thornton, all of Cumberland; her brothers, Frank Pope, Wichita, Kan., and Donald Pope and his wife Margo, Littleton, Colo.; as well as her grandchildren, Michael, Kelsey, Logan, Brittany and Quentin.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Alfred Deas Jr. officiating.

Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
