Trojans lose in slugfest

FREDERICK — Devin Bell had three hits, including a two-run home run, and three runs batted in, as Frederick downed Allegany, 14-8, in a Maryland JUCO slugfest Tuesday afternoon.

Both teams had 15 hits, and Allegany (12-13, 5-7 JUCO) led 6-5 after six innings before Frederick (26-8, 11-2) stormed back with four runs in the seventh and five in the eighth.

John Capwell had two hits and three RBIs and John Swirchak three hits for the Cougars.

Brandon Miller hit a two-run homer, two singles and had three RBIs for Allegany. Drew O’Neal had four singles, Rey Adames three hits and three RBIs and Cody Doran two hits.

Allegany hosts Garrett today at 3 p.m.
