The Moose wins first

— POTOMAC PARK — Trenton Eirich had two hits and scored two of the Moose’s five runs in leading the team to its first victory, 5-0 over Barrelville ODC Wednesday at Memorial Field.

Eirich tripled and singled. Vinny Foreman and winning pitcher Brandon Reed both had two base hits.

Reed went the distance, holding Barrelville to four hits with seven strikeouts.

Losing pitcher Corey Shroyer had two singles for Barrelville.

The Moose (1-3) will play Casselman Valley in a doubleheader on Monday at Salisbury beginning at 5:30 p.m. Barrelville plays Casselman on Wednesday at Memorial Field.

POTOMAC PARK — Casselman Valley defeated the Cumberland Moose Wednesday behind Tyler Mayhugh’s two singles and two RBIs.

Casselman Valley led the Moose 4-3 after the first inning — and never trailed — adding two runs in the third, one in the fourth, another in the fifth and finishing with two in the sixth.

Mike Miller got the win on the mound in four innings of work.

Brandon Miller added an RBI single and scored three runs, while Alex Beiler drove in another run for Casselman.

The Moose (1-3) was able to add one run in each the third, fourth, and sixth innings behind Nate Sounders’ two-run single. Trenton Eirich had a triple, single and RBI as well.
