King, Ridgeley duo fire no-hitters

— FROSTBURG — Cayleb King turned in a stellar performance with a near perfect game and drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as Lakeview Auto Parts came away with a 2-0 victory over Frostburg Legion in Hot Stove League baseball Monday at Glendening Field.

King fired a no-hitter, struck out 13 and did not walk a batter. Frostburg had only one baserunner, that one coming on a Lakeview error.

King hit a one-out RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to break a scoreless tie. King scored on a passed ball later in the inning to make it 2-0.

Logan McClintock had two singles as Lakeview was held to five hits by Legion pitchers Devin Dinicola and Hunter Harris.

Lakeview Auto Parts (11-2) will play the Cumberland Optimist on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Northern High. Frostburg Legion (4-7-1) plays Frostburg 1st United on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Field.

KEYSER, W.Va. — Wyatt Yates and Brett Whiteman combined on a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts as Ridgeley beat Keyser VFW for its 12th win in 13 tries.

Yates fanned six over the first three innings and Whiteman struck out seven the rest of the way for Ridgeley.

Karson Robinette tripled, A.J. Christ doubled and Yates had two singles for Ridgeley. Dalton Pollock, Chandler Rhodes, Ethan Mulligan and Caleb Hare all had RBI singles.

Ridgeley plays the Rotary on Wednesday at Holler Field.

Keyser VFW (3-7)  faces Hobo’s Restaurant on Thursday at Holler Field.
