Team One turns back Kiwanis

— OAKLAND — Team One Auto Mall rallied from an early deficit, then turned to Kris Tusing to put a stop to things in defeating the Cumberland Kiwanis 10-5 Wednesday evening at Broadford Park.

The Kiwanis led 2-1 and 4-3 after two innings before falling behind by one, 6-5, after the third inning. Tusing then took the mound in the fourth and shut out the Kiwanis the next two innings with four strikeouts.

Team One (8-6) responded with a four-run bottom half of the fourth to take control of the game which ended after five innings due to time constraints.

Team One doubled the number of hits Kiwanis had, 14-7. Joe Custer had two of the hits with three RBIs. Justin Peck had two doubles with an RBI, and Alec Horner, Ryan Roszell and Tusing also had two hits and an RBI. One of Horner’s hits was a double.

Conner Kelly had a double and Josiah McCauley had an RBI single to lead Kiwanis.

Team One plays Taylor Mining on Friday at Holler Field while the Kiwanis (3-9) plays Cork’s Cars on Saturday, 1:30 p.m., at Memorial Field.

POTOMAC PARK — Twigg’s Plumbing scored the go-ahead run on a walk in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Cumberland Optimist Tuesday at Hamilton Field.

Ernie Schwartz singled twice for Twigg’s. Haden DeHaven singled twice for the Optimist.

Twigg’s (8-4) will play today at Broadford Park against Cork’s Cars.

OAKLAND — Brandon Hanline pitched a five-inning complete-game three-hitter and struck out eight to gain the win as Madigan’s Auto used an 11-run fourth inning to defeat the Salisbury Legion Tuesday at Broadford Park.

Tanner Myers doubled and singled with three RBIs for Madigan’s, while Logan Hinebaugh had three singles and scored two runs.

Hunter Wilt doubled in a run for Salisbury.

Madigan’s Auto (8-5) will play Friday at the Keyser Moose.
