Cam Bohrer leads KMK over Twigg’s

POTOMAC PARK — Cam Bohrer belted a triple, a double and a single and scored all three runs to lead KMK Insurance/Outdoor Power past Twigg’s Plumbing & Heating 3-2 Monday at Holler Field.

Caleb Sivic tossed a five-hitter with no walks and banged a double at the plate. Tyler Eirich doubled and excelled defensively with nine putouts, and Ryan Miller knocked in two runs for the winners.

Ernie Swartz and Jordan Warner combined for 10 strikeouts, and Caleb Harden and Lechliter doubled for Twigg’s.

POTOMAC PARK — Connor Kelly and Brodie Evix had five of the Cumberland Kiwanis’ 10 hits in defeating the Cumberland Rotary Monday evening at Hamilton Field.

Evix had three base hits and Kelly two. Justin Copman also had two base hits.

Kiwanis, leading 1-0 after the first inning, took charge with five runs in the bottom of the third and added three more in the fourth to improve to 7-11.

The Rotary (4-14) got a double each from Tristan Eirich and Seth Emerick and two singles from Cam Chorpenning.

The Kiwanis plays the Cresaptown Eagles on Wednesday, 6 p.m., at Holler Field. The Rotary plays at Holler Field on Thursday against Chestnut Ridge.

Rotary wins two

POTOMAC PARK — Bryce Appel tossed a two-hitter and R.J. Buford smacked a pair of doubles and a single to lift the Cumberland Rotary to a 4-3 win over Twigg’s Plumbing and Heating last week at the Hot Stove Complex.

Buford’s RBI single in the fifth inning gave the Rotary the lead for good. Noah Steckman added a double.

The Rotary followed up that win with an 8-6 victory over the Cumberland Optimist.

Buford hit two more doubles and had four RBIs, while winning pitcher Tyele Powell and Cam Chorpenning hit two singles. Powell threw a five-hitter and struck out eight.

The Rotary will play Chestnut Ridge on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Holler Field.
