Lakeview outlasts KMK

9-1 lead turns into 10-7 win

POTOMAC PARK — Brooks Carr belted a bases-loaded triple in the fourth inning that helped make the difference during Lakeview Auto Parts’ 10-7 win over KMK Insurance/Outdoor Power in Game One of their second-round Hot Stove playoff series Monday at the Hot Stove Complex.

Lakeview (21-1) takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series with Game Two scheduled for Wednesday at the Complex.

Aaron Rodeheaver was solid on the mound (eight strikeouts) as well as the plate (two singles, one run batted in) to help Lakeview build an early lead. Carr’s triple helped Lakeview take a 9-1 lead through the first four innings.

Logan Yommer added two singles and Tyler McClintock finished with two RBIs on a single.

KMK got two singles from Blake Geatz, Cam Boyer and Blake Milburn. Ryan Miller delivered an RBI triple in the seventh.

Keyser VFW    7


POTOMAC PARK — Team One Auto Mall opened up a 5-0 lead early then hung on over the final few innings to deal a six-run loss to Keyser VFW Monday at Hamilton Field in the second round of the Hot Stove playoffs.

Corey Horner and Colton Peck each had three runs batted in on a pair of singles and a sacrifice fly.

Horner started and worked the first four innings before yielding to Chris Tusing. Horner struck out six in his start.

Keyser got two of four hits from Beau Horner, who finished with a pair of singles. He also had five strikeouts in three innings as Keyser’s starter.

Team One (13-7-1) and Keyser will play Game Two on Wednesday, 4:30 p.m., at Hamilton.
