Lakeview beats Kiwanis, 13-3

— POTOMAC PARK — A sixth inning surge helped Lakeview Auto Parts prevail over Cumberland Kiwanis 13-3 Tuesday evening at Memorial Field.

With a 4-3 lead heading into the sixth inning, Lakeview Auto Parts scored nine runs in the top half of the inning to extend its lead to 13-3.

Logan Yommer finished off Kiwanis in the bottom half of the inning for a complete-game five-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Lakeview Auto Parts (9-1) was led by Peyton Carr with four RBIs and Clark Morin with three.

Bryce Jones and Cody Uylder each added RBIs while Yommer and Brady Fratz each had two singles.

Cumberland Kiwanis got an RBI from Blake Baez.

Chaney-Buskirk      4

POTOMAC PARK — Cresaptown Eagles/Riverside Sports held off Chaney-Buskirk Insurance’s late comback attempt for a three-run victory Tuesday evening at Hamilton Field.

With a 7-1 lead entering the final inning, Riverside withstood a three-run seventh inning from Chaney-Buskirk to improve to 8-3.

Jacob VanMeter went the distance, striking out six batters and walking three.

Jackson Bauer went 3-for-3 to lead Cresaptown’s 11-hit attack. Cole Holler and Dustin Strickland each had two singles.

Colton Dilly led Chaney-Buskirk with a triple, double, and a single.

    Ryan Colaw hit an RBI single in the top of the 11th inning to put Potomac Valley up 9-8 and Garrett Keller’s hit made it 10-8 as Potomac Valley won the championship game of the West Virginia Area American Legion Tournament, 10-8, in 11 innings over Romney Sunday at Petersburg High School.
