Titans to play Frederick in state semifinal

— CUMBERLAND — The Pen-Mar WV League champion Tri-State Titans will play the Frederick Flying Dogs in the Maryland Semi-Pro Baseball state semifinals on Saturday at Memorial Field at the Hammersmith Hot Stove Complex.

The four-team, single-elimination state tournament is being held in Cumberland for the first time. The Titans (26-2) will play the Flying Dogs in a 2 p.m. semifinal at Memorial Field. The Flying Dogs won the Mid-Maryland League.

The other semifinal, at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Field, pits the Susquehanna Assault, which won the Susquehanna League, against the the Cancun Cantina Bulls, who won the Baltimore League.

The semifinal winners will play for the state championship at 5 p.m. at Memorial Field. All games will be nine innings.
