INWOOD, W.Va. — Romney Post 91 scored six runs in the seventh inning to take its first lead of the night and held off Berkeley County Post 91 over the final two innings to pick up an 11-9 win Wednesday at Musselman High School.
Romney trailed 7-2 entering the top of the seventh when it put up a six-spot on the board to take a one-run lead. Berkeley scored a run in the bottom of the seventh and another in the bottom of the ninth, but Romney managed three runs in the final two innings to stay in front.
David Delawder caused some harm with three runs batted in and a double, and Brent Parrish and Ethan Turner had two singles and one RBI apiece. Thane Cutter collected a couple of singles and Jamison Jones got two RBIs on a single.
Tyler Hott had six strikeouts in six innings before being lifted for Tyler Conley.
Romney (15-3) is 2-0 in division play and will take on another division opponent when it hosts a doubleheader with Jefferson Post 46 at noon on Saturday.
