Grantsville splits weekend games in Hillbilly Hardball Classic

ELKINS, W.Va. — Patrick Sines drove in three runs for Grantsville Post 214 in an 8-5 win over Prospect, Ohio at the Hillbilly Hardball Classic on Saturday.

Evan Rodeheaver got the win, allowing three earned runs on seven hits in a complete game.

Sines singled three times, Trevon Jones doubled and singled and Mason Dick and Kyle Rosenberger each hit RBI singles. Logan Stort added two singles.

Kurt Wyckoff had three singles and an RBI, Tyler Tillman brought in two runs with a double and Devin Taylor also doubled for Prospect.

Grantsville fell 3-2 later in the day to State College Pa., Post 245.

Seth Holler’s solo homer in the sixth made it a one-run game. Austin Reckart chipped in with two hits.

Shawn Omelia doubled and singled, Kenny Craig lined an RBI double and Derek Van Horn added two singles and an RBI for State College.

Grantsville Post 214 finished the weekend 2-2 in the tournament and is 5-4 overall.

Grantsville plays at Preston today at 6:30 p.m.
