Stair stars for Hornets during 13-5 win over Fannett-Metal

Drives in three runs on four hits

HYNDMAN, Pa. — Micah Stair picked up  four hits in four at bats with three runs batted in to lead Hope for Hyndman in a 13-5 rout of Fannett-Metal at Hyndman as on Wednesday.

Stair finished out the evening by throwing a scoreless final inning and a

third in relief of starter, M.J. Messinger, who allowed five runs but got the win behind more than enough support from the Hornet offense.

Chad Deneen drove in three more runs on two hits for the Hornets.

Travis Minium got the loss for Fannett-Metal.

The Hornets are just 2-4 in their last six games after beginning the season by winning five of the first six.

Hope for Hyndman (7-6) hosts Bishop Walsh for a doubleheader today at 2:30 p.m. and plays at Salisbury at 7 p.m. on Monday evening before finishing the regular season with a doubleheader at McConnellsburg on Wednesday.

The Pennsylvania Class A District 5 Playoffs begin with the quarterfinal round on May 22, and continue through to the finals, which are scheduled for May 30.
