Yommer, Lakeview outlast KMK, 11-8

POTOMAC PARK — Lakeview Auto Parts swept its way into the National League Championship Series by stepping over KMK Insurance 11-8 Wednesday at Holler Field in second-round Hot Stove playoff action.

Logan Yommer finished 4-for-4 with three runs batted in to pave the way to victory. He accounted for a third of Lakeview’s 12 hits. Brooks Carr added a double and a single, and Tyler McClintock and Aaron Rodeheaver both gave their team an RBI single.

The teams traded two-run halves of the first inning, and KMK took a 4-3 lead with two runs in the third. Lakeview (21-1) answered quickly by scoring four times in the fourth and never looked back.

For KMK, Logan Milburn hit two singles and Blake Milburn and Ryan Miller each added an RBI single.

Lakeview also won Game One by three runs, 10-7, and will face Team One Auto Mall on Monday, 5:30, at the Hot Stove Complex in the first game of the NLCS.

POTOMAC PARK — Ryan Roszell and Kris Tusing each allowed only one hit as Team One Auto Mall defeated Keyser VFW to sweep its second-round playoff series Wednesday at Hamilton Field.

Team One (14-7-1) will play Lakeview Auto Parts in the best of three semifinals beginning Monday.

Team One, with six hits, jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, led 4-2 after three and scored two runs in each the fourth and sixth innings while Roszell and Tusing limited Keyser to base hits by Beau Horner and C. Smith.

Hunter Nazelrod led Team One two hits and two RBIs. Devon Tracy and Alec Horner each had doubles with Tracy bringing in a run.

Sean Markwood and Corey Horner had base hits and Colton Peck had an RBI sacrifice fly for Team One.

POTOMAC PARK — Bedford Thomas Chevrolet blanked Chestnut Ridge in five innings in the first game of their second-round playoff series on Tuesday night.

Josh Hickey was the winning pitcher for Thomas and Jeff Kid had three hits.

The teams meet in game 2 tonight at Hamilton Field at 5:30 p.m.
