BEDFORD, Pa. — Bedford Thomas Chevrolet rebounded from an extra inning loss in game two to defeat Chestnut Ridge 9-4 in the rubber match and advance to the Hot Stove League Championship Series Saturday in Bedford, Pa.
Game two started on Thursday and was suspended due to darkness after nine innings with the game tied at seven. Play resumed Saturday at Hamilton Field with Bedford scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the tenth.
Chestnut Ridge scored two runs to walk off in the bottom half in a bizarre inning that included three Bedford errors and two botched rundowns.
Bedford won game two despite playing with eight players.
Robert Hernandez tripled and James Clark singled twice in the win.
Trey Diehl doubled and Philip Dahl singled twice for Chesnut Ridge.
Bedford (19-3-1) will meet Ridgeley VFW in the finals Monday at the Hot Stove Complex at 5:30 p.m.
