Horner helps Team One tame Fort Ashby Lions

Deffenbaugh’s five RBIs lifts 1st United

OAKLAND — Cory Horner doubled and singled twice for Team One Auto Mall in an 8-7 defeat of Fort Ashby Lions in both teams season opener at Broadford Park Monday.

Shawn Markwood and Colton Peck doubled and singled and Justin Peck singled twice for Team One.

Ross Conley and Gavin Maury singled twice and Jack Dopler hit an RBI single for Fort Ashby, which plays Frostburg 1st United on Wednesday at Holler Field.

Team One plays the Cumberland Lions at Memorial Field on Thursday at 8 p.m.

Kiwanis     5

FROSTBURG — Owen Deffenbaugh doubled and knocked in five runs to lead Frostburg 1st United over Kiwanis at the Armory.

Lucas Lowry, who drew five bases on balls, scored three runs for Frostburg. Brady Folk struck out six in 2 1/3 innings of relief.

Dylan Bean scored three runs for the Kiwanis.

Bill Miller Equipment     0

CUMBERLAND — Bradley McKenzie belted a two-run double and single, Lee Rounds had two singles and Caleb Broadwater a two-run double to lead Grantsville to a shutout of Bill Miller Equipment.

A. Lancaster doubled for Bill Miller.

Grantsville will play the Cresaptown Eagles on Wednesday at Grantsville.

Rotary     4

Hobo’s     4

POTOMAC PARK — Hobo’s rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to gain a tie with Rotary in Hot Stove League action Tuesday at Holler Field.

Trailing 4-0 entering the seventh, Hobo’s took advantage of three walks, a fielder’s choice error and RBI singles by Ross Bebout and Cody Loar, with Loar’s hit plating two runs. Blake Martz also singled for Hobo’s.

Rotrary, which had seven hits in the game, was led by Char Denning, who singled twice. Rotary scored all four of its runs in the fourth on four singles and an error.

The game was stopped due to darkness.

Hobo’s (1-0) will take on Kiwanis Friday at Bel Air Field.
