Cam Bohrer belted a triple, a double and a single and scored all three runs to lead KMK Insurance/Outdoor Power past Twigg’s Plumbing & Heating 3-2 Monday at Holler Field.
Chapman, Carr lead Grantsville to first win, 6-3
Keith Chapman went the distance on the mound and homered at the plate, and Brooks Carr also homered to power Grantsville Post 214 to a 6-3 win over Uniontown Post 51 in American Legion action Monday at Garrett College.
Ennis named first-team all-state
Shane Ennis made a name for himself early at Hampshire High School.
It’s a pretty well-known name across the state now.
Ennis, a hard-throwing pitcher and clutch cleanup hitter, was named Class AAA first-team all-state for the second year in a row. A four-year starter, Ennis was named to the first team as an outfielder both seasons.
Mowry, Lohr lead Hobo’s 10-0 win
Cody Lohr and Ryan Mowry were a combined 6 for 6 with five runs scored and three runs batted in to support the two-hit pitching of Chaz Fatula as Hobo’s Restaurant blanked Frostburg 1st United, 10-0, in Hot Stove League action Friday evening.
Romney defeats Grantsville in Elkins
Garrett Crawford hit three singles and knocked in a run and Braiden Popluhar scattered six hits in a complete-game win to send Romney Post 91 to a 7-1 win over Grantsville Post 214 in the Hillbilly Hardball Classic Thursday night at Davis & Elkins College.
Steckman, Eirich lead Moose over Barrelville, 12-2
Zack Steckman scored three runs and Trenton Eirich had 10 strikeouts as Moose Lodge 271 defeated Barrelville Outdoor Club 12-2 in six innings Wednesday evening at Memorial Field.
Fatula helps Hobo’s win, 10-9
Chaz Fatula went 3 for 4 with a double, two singles, two runs scored and two runs batted in to help power Hobo’s Restaurant to a 10-9 win over the Cresaptown Eagles/Riverside Sports in Hot Stove League action Thursday at Bel Air Field.
Romney rally stuns Elkins
Ethan Turner’s liner with two-outs in the bottom of the ninth capped an 11-run rally as Romney Post 91 handed Elkins Post 29 its first loss of the season, 12-11, Monday night at Hampshire High School.
Lakeview scores late to defeat Ridgeley, 5-2
Lakeview Auto Parts did all of its scoring in the final three innings to come away with a 5-2 victory over Ridgeley Tuesday evening at Memorial Field.
Ridgeley took an early 1-0 lead after the first inning, but lost the lead in the top of the fifth as Lakeview added three runs. Ridgeley would respond with a run in the bottom half of the inning, but still trailed 3-2.
Wilhelm’s hit lifts Riverside
Hunter Wilhelm drove in the winning run as Cresaptown Eagles/Riverside Sports defeated KMK Insurance/Outdoor Power 6-5 on Monday evening at Memorial Field.
