Campers swat Hornets

HYNDMAN, Pa. — Darquel Jessie scored 13 points and Bryce Nightengale had 12 to lead unbeaten Allegany past Hope for Hyndman.

Colton Sivic added 10 points for the Campers (3-0), who led 18-0 after the first quarter and 34-8 at the half.

Jordan Hiquet led Hyndman (1-2) with five points.

Allegany also won the jayvee game 62-18.

Hyndman will host Frankfort on Thursday. Allegany visits Southern in an Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference game on Friday.

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Aaron Cole had team-highs with 23 points and seven rebounds and Dylan George led a strong defensive effort to carry Moorefield past Frankfort for its first win.

Cole hit 11 field goals and a free throw to lead the Yellow Jackets (1-1). Tyler Smith added 10 points.

Chase Detrick also hit 11 field goals and a free throw for a game-high 24 points for Frankfort (0-2).

Moorefield trailed 15-13 after the first quarter, but shut out Frankfort in the second quarter and led 20-15 at the half. The Yellow Jackets began the third quarter with an 8-0 run, giving them a 15-0 run from the second period into the third. They led 39-25 going into the final eight minutes.

Moorefield also won the jayvee game 62-53. Jacob Young poured in 34 points for Frankfort.

Frankfort plays at Hope for Hyndman Charter on Thursday. Moorefield will host Buffalo on Friday.

SALISBURY, Pa. — Ryan Platt scored 15 of his 23 points in the first half to help Shanksville get out to a 36-18 lead at halftime and carry on for a 21-point win Tuesday evening.

Platt scored eight points in the first quarter and seven in the second. He added eight more points in the third before playing sparsely and not scoring in the fourth.

Joe Hudak scored 11 points, and Jake Wilt had 10 in the win.

Nathan Bates had 10 points for the Elks (0-5).
