Lowery, Fort Hill defeat BW, 54-34

— CUMBERLAND — Sarah Lowery scored 18 points to lead Fort Hill over Bishop Walsh 54-34 in their City game Monday evening at Bishop Walsh School.

The victory evens the Sentinels record to 3-3.

Camden Wilson added 10 points while Alexis Kimmell had nine for the Sentinels.

Bishop Walsh was led by Maggie Matthews’ 11 points and Nicole Ross had 10 and led the team with eight rebounds.

Abagail Sensabaugh had four points and nine rebounds.

Fort Hill led at halftime 27-18.

Skylar Barbie scored 14 points to lead the Fort Hill junior varsity over BW’s 42-5.

Fort Hill will in the Mountain Ridge Christmas Tournament on Thursday and Friday.

KEYSER, W.Va. — Lexi Taylor and Lexi Carr were at it again Monday evening, combining for 38 points and 20 rebounds during Keyser’s win over Moorefield.

Taylor had 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Carr collected 19 of her own and added eight steals and four assists. Kaitlyn Tichnell finished with six points, four steals and four assists.

Keyser held a comfortable 21-6 lead at the close of the first, and was ahead 36-18 at halftime. The Golden Tornado outscored the Yellow Jackets 21-1 in the third to erase any hope of a comeback.

Beth Cook knocked down four threes to finish with 12 points for Moorefield.

The Tornado improves to 7-0 before Christmas and is off until Jan. 3 when they play at Mountain Ridge.  

Baily Yaider had 18 points for Keyser during its 60-23 win in the jayvee game. Jayna Wilson added 11 points and Bethany Jones had 10. Megan Weekly scored 11 in the loss.

INWOOD, W.Va. — Katie Beeman had a double-double for Frankfort, but the Falcons were unable to slow down Musselman during a loss Monday to the Applemen.

Beeman matched her 10 points with 10 rebounds to finish as Frankfort’s leading scorer. Ashley Noah added six points.

Kerr scored a dozen points for Musselman with Hertelendy adding nine before fouling out.

Taylor Stein scored 12 points in the jayvee game to lead the Falcons to a 26-24 win. Danielle Burdette scored 11 points in the loss.

Frankfort (1-5) plays Fairmont Sr. on Friday in the Fairmont Holiday Tournament.
