Falcons flatten Huskies

— SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Mikala Miller recorded 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists to lead Frankfort to a 58-40 win Tuesday at home against Northern.

The Huskies entered play on a five-game losing streak. They were close after one, down 15-9, but Frankfort extended the lead to 32-21 halftime.

Northern never sustained a run to close the gap. Frankfort won the third quarter, 11-9 and the fourth, 15-10.

Stephanie Cornachia grabbed 10 rebounds to go with 11 points for the Falcons.

Kirsten Rayner and Allison Yommer each scored 14 in the loss.

Frankfort bested the Huskies in the jayvee game as well, 39-22, led by 15 points from Autumn Cox.

Northern (1-8) goes to Keyser Thursday at 7:30.

Frankfort (5-5) plays at Hampshire Thursday at 6 p.m.

Meyersdale    62

Salisbury    18

SALISBURY, Pa. — Abigail Stahl led Meyersdale with 13 points during a 62-18 win at Salisbury Tuesday.

The Red Raiders scored all of the points they would need with 19 in the first quarter.

They scored eight in the second, which was three more than Salisbury, to go up 27-9 at halftime.

Meyersdale poured it on in the second half with 34 points as Salisbury matched their first half output.

Kylee Short scored eight for the Elks.

Kyley Dunmeyer added 11 for the Red Raiders.

Salisbury hosts Blacklick Valley Thursday at 6 p.m.
