FROSTBURG — Penn State Harrisburg got 52 points from its bench, with Nick Stovall scoring 22 points on 9 of 10 shooting, and the Lions beat Frostburg State 75-65 in a Capital Athletic Conference game at Bobcat Arena on Thursday.
Kenny Stone added 15 points and Marquese Daniels had 13, giving the Lions (7-13, 4-8) three double-figure scorers off the bench. Starter William Doyle had 14 points and five assists.
The Lions, who snapped a six-game losing streak, shot 58 percent from the field (25 for 43) and their bench outscored Frostburg’s by 52-10.
Nick Smoot had a game-high 20 points for the Bobcats (2-18, 1-11), and made two big three-point shots in the final minutes that pulled FSU to within five each time. But Harrisburg held Frostburg without a basket over the final 2:19 while building its lead back to 10 points.
Smoot finished with four three-point goals. Tyler Campbell added 12 points and Jabari Kamau 10 points, seven rebounds and two steals for FSU, which hosts St. Mary’s today at 3 p.m.
