CRESAPTOWN — Shalom’s defense led to a huge second quarter and Calvary was unable to make up the lost ground Friday evening during a 55-28 Mason-Dixon Christian Conference loss.
The teams were knotted 8-8 after the first quarter, but Shalom outscored the Eagles 19-4 during the second to take a 27-12 lead into halftime. The score was 38-22 entering the fourth.
Despite being shadowed by Chesni Ultis in Calvary’s box and one defense, Tory Yoder still managed 18 points, mostly off turnovers created by her team’s press. Lydia Harris added 14 points in the win.
Calvary got a double-double of 12 rebounds and 10 points from Karly Hipsley and 10 points from Brooke Ricker.
After a 21-day layoff before Friday’s game, Calvary rests only three days before play at Cumberland Valley on Tuesday.
