Potomac State overpowers Butler

BUTLER, Pa. — Four Potomac State players scored in double figures Wednesday night as the Catamounts came home with a one-sided 80-59 win over Butler in Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference men’s basketball.

Teko Ag’bo, 6-5 sophomore forward, led the Cats with 17 points, while Cedrick Dwyer scored 14. Carlton Drake and Michael Hatfield both scored 11.

The Catamounts led at the half, 42-26.

Potomac State (12-6, 5-1 in the WPCC) will play Community College Beaver County, the No. 2-ranked team in the country Saturday, 2 p.m., in Monaca, Pa.

ST. MARY’S CITY — Donn Hill scored 16 points and Nick LaGuerre added 15 to lead 12th-ranked St. Mary’s to a 73-53 win over Frostburg State in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

Frostburg State (8-14, 2-7 CAC) led 18-16 midway through the first half but the Seahawks (20-2, 8-1) dominated the rest of the way, first using a 19-8 run to close the half up 35-26, and extending the lead to 29 points, 68-39, with five minutes to play.

Christian Jackson had 28 points and nine rebounds to lead the Bobcats, who struggled from the field, shooting only 32 percent (18 for 56).

Brendan McFall added 11 points and eight rebounds for St. Mary’s.

Frostburg State will host Salisbury on Senior Day on Saturday at 3 p.m.
