MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Justin Goff conjured up 25 points and Cal Cistaro added 18 as Notre Dame ended Moorefield’s season with a 63-57 win in the West Virginia Class A Region II finals at Moorefield.
The Yellow Jackets got out to a 20-13 lead at the end of one quarter, but the Fighting Irish closed the lead down to 24-23 by halftime. Moorefield added two points to the advantage to take a 43-30 lead into the fourth quarter before Notre Dame outscored it 23-14.
The Irish made fewer field goals than the Jackets (22-19), but were 22-for-31 at the foul line while Moorefield was 6 of 10.
Lance Taylor scored a team-high 25 points and added 10 rebounds in the loss. Garrett Keller finished with 17 points.
Notre Dame advances to the state tournament beginning on Wednesday. Moorefield finishes 11-12.
