Linaburg, McAtee lead PSC over Howard, 82-56

— KEYSER, W.Va. — Potomac State scored twice as much as Howard over the first half to open a huge lead it maintained through the second half of an 82-56 blowout win Tuesday in Keyser.

The Catamounts raced out to a 44-22 lead during the first 20 minutes before sailing in the final half to improve to 5-1. Potomac State will play again when it hosts Dundalk on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Allegany graduate Lindsie Linaburg missed a double-double by one rebound, grabbing nine to go along with her 10 points. Jenna McAtee scored a PSC-high 16 points, and Kirsten Raynor finished with 12 points. Chelsea Keyser added 10 points.

The 26-point win is the fourth in a row for the Catamounts, with the closest victory being 71-65 over Southern Maryland.

Lenee Kimbell had seven field goals and was 7 of 11 on free throws to score 22 points in the loss. Gina Booker added 13 points for Howard.

Anne Arundel 68, Allegany 57

ARNOLD — A strong second half by the Pioneers spoiled a 25-point effort by Allegany’s Gina Rievel Tuesday evening during Anne Arundel’s win over the Trojans.

Anne Arundel entered halftime with a 30-27 lead on the Trojans, but outscored Allegany 38-30 in the second half to pull away for the double-digit win. Lindsey Williams dropped in 19 points, Larissa Cothren scored 14 and Sarah Stokes added 13 more to pace the Pioneers.

Rievel rained five three-pointers and nine field goals on Anne Arundel to help keep the score tight. No other Trojan reached double figures in points, but two players finished with nine in Kiki Paige and Kierra Williams.

Allegany’s next game is set for Tuesday when the Trojans play at Chesapeake.
