Southern took over during the second quarter and built a 20-point lead by halftime as the No. 1 team in the Times-News Girls Basketball Poll destroyed the No. 4 team in West Virginia Class A with a 60-30 win over Tucker Saturday in Oakland.
The Rams ran their way to a 14-10 edge in the first, and then created some space in the second to go up 33-13 by halftime. Southern pushed the lead to 44-21 after three and continued to add to it during the fourth.
