HAGERSTOWN — Charles Sidney Defibaugh, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Hagerstown, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at the Lutheran Commons, in Orlando.

Charles was born in Cumberland on Sept. 26, 1916. He was the son of the late John G. and Ruth Defibaugh-Wilkinson.

He was a graduate of Piedmont High School in Piedmont, W.Va.

He served in World War II in the 4117th Army Air Force Base Unit.

He retired as owner/president of The Marquis Co., in Hagerstown and Cumberland.

He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church Hagerstown.

He was a member of the Hagerstown V.F.W., Kiwanis Club of Suburban Hagerstown, Tall Cedars, Hagerstown Junior College Boosters Club and Fountain Head Country Club.

Charles is survived by a son, John Defibaugh of Orlando.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Martha A. (Cheshire) Defibaugh.

A memorial service will be held at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008, with the Rev. Richard Jewel officiating.
