    Hagerstown scored three unearned runs in the first inning and Corey Livengood won a pitchers duel against Nathan Fike as the Hawks upended Potomac State, 5-1, in the rain-soaked and delayed Region XX, Division I Tournament Tuesday afternoon.

    After two days of rain the 2008 Region XX Division 1 tournament finally got under way Sunday and Andy Altemus must have enjoyed the extra rest as the sophomore turned in a stellar complete-game effort, leading Potomac State over Chesapeake Community College 6-2 in the first game of the tournament.

    Frostburg State used a six-run second inning in a rain shortened game two to help earn a split with Villa Julie in non-conference baseball action at Bob Wells Field, Saturday. FSU dropped game one 1-0 but rebounded with a 7-1 win in game two that ended midway through the fifth inning due to heavy rain.

    Brock Stevens hit a two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning to send Potomac State past Harford Community College, 7-5, Sunday at Golden Park.
