Garrett 22, Southside 1

EMPORIA, Va. — Alex Anderson had four hits and three runs batted in, and three pitchers combined for a two-hitter as Garrett roughed up Southside Community College.

Anderson smacked two doubles and two singles to lead a 22-hit attack for the Lakers. Julian Cabrera had two doubles, a single and three RBIs, and Joe Wilt two singles and four RBIs.

Greg Beachy started and got the win, fanning 10 over the first four innings of the eight-inning game. Garrett Rogers struck out the side in the seventh and eighth innings.

Garrett (2-3) and Southside play a doubleheader today at 1 o’clock.
