Frostburg State loses to DeSales, 7-2

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Chris Brian tossed six solid innings and was backed by an 11-hit attack as DeSales University upended Frostburg State, snapping the Bobcats' three-game win streak.

DeSales (5-7) jumped on top early against FSU starter Trevor Conner, who allowed five runs and five hits in three innings.

Brian scattered six hits, struck out six and allowed only one run in six innings for his first win of the season.

Zach Hess had two doubles, a single and two RBIs to lead DeSales.

Brett Mitchell went 3-for-5 and John Micklus went 2-for-3 with a double for Frostburg. Relievers Spencer Madsen and Spencer Barnard pitched the final five innings, scattering six hits and allowing only two runs.

Frostburg plays again Wednesday at Villa Julie.
