ACM Loses Two

CUMBERLAND - Steve Muoio hit a two-run homer in the first game and a three-run homer in the second, powering Monroe (N.Y.) to a 12-3, 12-0 sweep of Allegany on a chilly, windy Sunday afternoon at The Rock.
In the opener, Muoio homered in the first inning, and and finished with a homer and single. Matt McGovern had two doubles and two RBIs, Nate Grabowski a solo home run, Corey Brownsten three singles and Kaleb Cunningham a double, single and two RBIs for Monroe, which led 7-3 before scoring five times in the seventh.
Erik Kempton belted a solo homer for Allegany. Adam Delauter had two singles and Lee Bainbridge a two-run single.
Mike Tokessy scattered seven hits in a complete game win.
In the second game, both teams had seven-run innings, with the Trojans knotting the game 9-9 with a seven-run fourth.
Monroe regained the lead with a run in the fifth, and tacked on two big insurance runs in the seventh on a home run by Dan Kaplan. The Trojans scored once in their final at-bat.
Muoio homered, singled and knocked in four runs and Kaplan finished with a homer, two singles and three RBIs. Pat Corrigan hit two doubles and a single for Monroe.
Ryan MacNamara ripped a two-run homer for Allegany. A.J. Czap had three hits, Cody Young and Taylor Wheaton two hits, and Matt Gruber had a single and three RBIs.
Allegany (19-13) plays at Hagerstown on Tuesday at 3 o'clock.
