KEYSER - Monroe Sophomore Matt McGovern raised his record to 4-0 as he twirled eight innings of solid ball as the Tribunes won the series by taking the final game 8-3 over Potomac State Monday at Golden Park.
McGovern, who came into the game with a 0.00 ERA, struck out four and allowed just seven hits over eight innings of work.
Monroe pounded out 15 hits on Potomac State pitchers Andy Altemus, Jonathan Hash and David Higgins.
Pat Corrigan led Monroe with two singles and three runs batted in. Steve Muoio added three singles and an RBI.
Kyle Orensky hit his third home run of the season for Potomac State. Mike Smith had two hits and an RBI.
PSC will travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for a twinbill with the junior varsity Wednesday at 1 p.m. and travel to Garrett on Friday for a single game at 3 p.m.
