WASHINGTON, Pa. - Frostburg State's four-game winning streak came to end in a 3-1, 9-1 doubleheader loss to Washington & Jefferson.
In the opener, Frostburg (6-8) knotted the game 1-1 in the sixth on an RBI double by Lindsay Seal.
The Presidents (11-3) struck back in the bottom of the inning to retake the lead and get the win. A two-out double by Kelly Morrow broke the tie, and an RBI single by Amanda Howard provided an insurance run.
FSU pitcher Katelyn Coffee suffered the loss, allowing three runs and seven hits. Rebecca Nachreiner improve to 6-1 with a four-hitter for W&J.
The Presidents took an early lead in the second game on a two-run homer in the first inning by Katelynn Falleroni, and extended the lead throughout the game, which was shortened to five innings.
Samantha Quirin scored on an infield error to account for the only run for FSU, which was held to three hits.
MacIntosh went 2-for-3 for Frostburg State, which opens confernce play Saturday with a doubleheader at Lake Erie.
