Lady Cats win pair

NORTH EAST - The Potomac State offense picked up from where it left off on Tuesday by collecting 34 hits and scoring 23 runs in a 5-4, 18-10 sweep of Cecil Wednesday afternoon.
A day after getting 33 runs and 41 hits in a sweep of Garrett, the Catamounts rallied for four runs in the final two innings to win the first game.
Ashley Metcalfe had a two-run double in the sixth inning, and Morgan Shockey dou-
bled home the go-ahead run in the seventh. Brittany Wright and Lindsey Twigg added a double and single. Metcalfe, who struck out seven and walked three, got the win.
Kristen McMullen had three hits for Cecil.
Potomac State blew the second game open with a 10-run third inning.
Shockey led the way with four hits, including a a triple and a double. Twigg had three singles and a double, Metcalfe a double and two singles, Ashley Conners four singles and Wright three singles.
Potomac State (16-8) plays Hagerstown at 9 a.m. on Friday in the Hagerstown Invitational.
