Pitt-Bradford sweeps Frostburg State

FROSTBURG - Pitt-Bradford smacked two home runs in an 8-2 win in the first game and scored four times in the seventh inning to rally for a 4-2 victory in the second in sweeping Frostburg State in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader.
In the opener, LeeAnn Kramer hit a three-run home run in the first inning to give the Panthers (3-11, 2-2) the early lead. She singled home another run in the third to make it 4-0.
Missy Wiseman's seventh-inning grand slam made it 8-0.
Lindsay Freitag hit a two-run double in the bottom of the inning for Frostburg State (7-12, 1-4).
In the nitecap, the Bobcats led 2-0 until Bradford's seventh-inning rally.
All four of the Panthers' runs were unearned and came after two were out. Jillian Kreitzer singled in the first two runs to tie the game. Alex Palumbo followed with an RBI single and scored on a double by Kerri Davis.
Claeys and Katelyn Coffey had RBI doubles for Frostburg State.
Coffey, who had allowed only one hit and a walk through six innings, absorbed the loss.
FSU hosts Eastern Mennonite (Va.) on Tuesday in a 2 p.m. non-conference doubleheader.
